What's this all about?

Have you ever felt left out because of the words those around you were using, even if they didn't mean to exclude you? Have you ever been on the receiving end of outright derogatory language? Whether intentional or unintentional, words matter. I want to hear from you, to learn from you. During this 100% confidential video call, the two of us will chat about the words and phrases that bother you in the workplace, at home and out and about, why they bother you and what you wish people would say instead. Here are just some of the areas we can talk about: - Gendered assumptions - Gender versus sex - Stereotypes - Racism and derogatory language regrading ethnicity - Ableist language - Neurodiversity and unclear communication - Ageist language - Microaggressions As a white Irish person, I experience a lot of privilege in this life. I continuously research exclusionary and derogatory language and alternatives relating to lived experiences I will never have, such as racism. But I know there's so much more that never makes it to academic studies or mainstream news. Place your trust in me and I'll continue to spread inclusive language knowledge and insights throughout communities, schools and workplaces.
